An Abundance of Strawberries
I was walking along the main street in my village, when I ran into a friend who runs a landscaping business. “Hi, Cath,” he said. “I've got fifty strawberry plants the owner doesn't want. Can you take some?”
I could have taken fifty. But I settled for fifteen. I put them in the veg patch. When they were fully grown, our boys went into the garden to pick and eat them.
